Racing Car Show, 1961 Original BRSCC Poster
This original poster for the 1961 Racing Car Show is rare enough in any condition; to find not one, but two, both of which are virtually mint, is extraordinarily lucky. They were picked up at the show by an enthusiast collector who put them away, only to have them recently surface and be grabbed by my delighted hands.
The Racing Car Show was the forerunner to the current Autosport International, which is held at the NEC each January.
In 1961, the venue was the Royal Agricultural Hall in Westminster, and note that it ran for a week from New Year’s Eve.
The artist, B.K.Bull has given us a car that is reminiscent of the Lotus 21 which was launched as the 18 replacement in 1961. More here: https://www.goodwood.com/grrc/event-coverage/goodwood-revival/2014/9/cars-that-rock-revival-1961-lotus-21/
